Updated 6th December 2008
Strange time to receive a call from BT 5:20 pm at a Saturday evening -
did they hope I would be OUT ?
especially after the last call backs
did not arrive.....
I just had a call from Mr Barnaby Hall at BT, Blackburn. Why my problem
went to Blackburn he couldn't say but he has given me a new order number and assures me the renumber will take place this week.
Added: 2nd December 2008
Timeline for a
number change.
In the middle of October I called BT and informed them that I had
changed address, could I transfer my old number to the new
(same area code ) address.
BT's answer was yes.
29th October Given a VOL (Order number) subsequently shown to be not the
right one, and a second one was provided.
the date for the new number was 10th November.
10th November no new number appeared.
10th November, I called BT , they could not say why it was not done.
A new VOL order was provided and a new date of 1st December was given as
the definite date of the number change.
1st Dec, at 9:30 the number change still had not happened and I called
BT; Varun in an Indian Call Centre promised the renumber was still
scheduled to go ahead that day.
He assured me it would happen before 12:32.
By 14:00 still no number change.
Another call to BT and another Indian lady was very apologetic she
promised the number change would happen before midnight.
I didn't believe her.
At about 17:00 I received a call from a manager. He told me the renumber
could not be done. ever.
After a few more questions he told me that Openreach had initially said
they could do the number change,
but now had found they could not.
Now I'm waiting for a call from another manager at BT who will tell me
what can be done now.
As it's urgent they promise I'll get a call this week.
