We moved into our current home in 2005. we
previously had AOL at our old address. We had our line connected and
moved AOL broadband to our new line. After a while, we decided to shop
around for a better broadband deal. We carried out the availability
checks with Pipex etc and BT who all said we could get between 6-8mb
broadband.
We decided on a company called Eclipse. We
have been with them since April 06. We want to move to a faster
service like Be Or Bulldog but we cant. BT now tell us that we
can only have 0.5mb as a maximum and that's all we will get. After
many frustrating calls to BT Faults, BT sales, bt broadband, BT
Broadband support, we are no nearer a reason why apart from it
was the length of our line.
" YOU WHAT? " I said to one guy.
" Our line hasn't suddenly grown over the last 7 months and we haven't
moved." why is that ? ". The guy at BT complaints told me
that BT Wholesale and BT Openreach are not part of BT!! Don't make me
laugh. He finally said to me " there is nobody it BT that can do
anything for you". There damn well is!!
I complied a letter of compliant and sent
it to the chairman and cheif executive of BT. Apparently they have a
direct route straight to BT Wholesale who can carry out line checks
and tests immediately where us consumers cannot directly contact them.
Needless to say the checks were done and the engineer siad that the
line was good and we should be getting over 6mb. Guess what? no
change!! everyone still tells us its only 0.5mb and we are no further
forward. BT don't seem to give a stuff as long as they are taking the
money that's all that matters to them.
The saga goes on!!
